Correspondence with Huffington Post "Senior Crime Reporter" David Lohr

Correspondence with Huffington Post "Senior Crime Reporter" David Lohr

UPDATE10/26/12  - DAVID LOHR RESPONDS TO THIS POST:

"You forgot to mention how, despite multiple requests, you never sent any of the documents you claim to have. You also forgot to mention all of the harassing emails you sent."

-from a comment on this site 12/26/12, later removed by the author.

JUSTICE FOR SUNNYS SHEU RESPONDS TO DAVID LOHR:

Hey David,

Great to hear from you. You didn't request specific documents; you wanted to come to the office and copy every document we had, yet you said you wouldn't consider any testimony or documents from me and Blackstar News editor Milton Alimadi, who are the primary witnesses in the case.

Truthout, a publication that makes the Huffington Post look like the Weekly World News, published a ten-thousand word article on the Sheu case, based on the documentation you wouldn't touch.

Furthermore, I put you in touch with the guy who had the court records (which anyone can get from the court, for goodness sakes) but you never followed up, and failed to answer his respectful letter.

It was then that I realized you were a shill for the NYPD. I made some inquiries with some mutual friends and confirmed this.

By all means post the so-called "harassing" emails here in the comments section, but don't forget to include the complete emails in the context of our entire correspondence, or I will. As a "Crime Reporter", you know perfectly well that there were no "harassing" emails. If there were, you would have called your pals at the NYPD and had me arrested.

By the way, where's your article about the NYPD "cannibal cop"? That story is right up your alley. Did I miss it?

Be well, and please use your privileged position to good in the world. We need heroes.

NO RESPONSE FROM MR. LOHR.

This correspondence is typical of several The Blackstar News had with various Mainstream Media outlets.

The reporter appears to be interested, requests documentation, and then disappears without explanation and refuses to respond to any further correspondence.

It would appear that the editors of these "news sources" get the word one way or the other that this story is too hot to handle.

In this case "Senior Crime Reporter" David Lohr dropped the ball entirely with no explanation or communication.

Why David Lohr won't touch this story

Mr. Lohr, like Nancy Grace, has a career based entirely on being sent cases from police blotters around the United States, and then reporting them in the most lurid and sensationalist manner possible. That is how they earn their money.

If Lohr were to report on a story impugning the largest and most powerful police force in the USA, he could alienate himself from the entire police world, and would likely be cut off. End of career.

For this reason Lohr must never criticize the police.

In fact, the way Lohr demanded every document the Blackstar News had, makes it appear that he was "fishing" for his buddies at the NYPD, who would like very much to know if there is more information about their crimes than that which has already been reported.

Had  Lohr been sincere in his efforts to report or investigate this case, he  would have asked for specific documents.

Lohr should stick with his expertise, and continue to write stories like this one:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/09/jimmy-hawkeye-jeter-pig-sex-tape_n_1335492.html

What is alarming is that a Newspaper like the Huffington Post, which was once taken seriously has sunk to the level that it's "Senior Crime Reporter" has no independence.

Do you have digital copies of any of the court docs related to Sunny’s mortgage case? All I have been able to locate online are court documents regarding the appeals.
I would like to go over that info and then call you to discuss.

David,

The Blackstar News has many records regarding Sunny's foreclosure proceedings, and you are welcome to come to our office and examine them. There is also a lawyer, Kevin Hall,  who worked with Sunny, who has many more records and a very deep grasp of all the legal details of Sunny's ten year fight to save his home. He is currently in Florida, but will gladly speak to you by phone.

Unfortunately, after his death, Sunny's computer, and all records were apparently confiscated by the NYPD, even though there was "no criminality" ever involved with his death, according to the NYPD.

I would stress however, that EVEN if Sunny's case was flawed or specious (which it was certainly not), the most pertinent, incontestable fact of this case can be cited in one sentence:

The Medical Examiner of Queens County declared the manner of death of Sun Ming Sheu to be "undetermined", the cause of death to be "blunt force trauma to the head with skull fractures and brain injury" and there has been no investigation.

In the USA, an "undetermined death" MUST be investigated, period.

This fact-  in and of itself - is worthy of a story.

Other important facts include:

1) The NYPD "identified" and removed the body illegally from a NY Hospital after being refused two times by hospital staff.

2) The NYPD sent a message to the M.E. trying to skew the determination by mentioning "a witness" who saw Sunny fall, and by saying that their detectives had determined that there was "no criminality".

a) it has been proven that the Homocide squad of the 107th was NEVER told about Sunny's death and

b) after the impropriety of that communication was pointed out to the M.E. he did a second autopsy and ruled the death "undetermined".

3) The Emergency Room Doctor Zeeshan Ahmed, who treated Sunny and who said on tape that there was NO head trauma is in the unfortunate position of having to admit that he is

a) a doctor who cannot detect a smashed skull - even with the help of a CAT scan (which would show even hairline fractures) - and that he did not relieve cranial pressure BECAUSE there was no trauma) or

b) that he lied on behalf of the police detectives who records show came to visit him shortly before he made the false statements.

4) There has never been an investigation of the complaint Sunny made against financial disclosure fraud by Golia, even thought the OCA determined the complaint to be worthy of demanding an amended form Golia. Three days after receiving the amended complaint, Sunny was killed.

The amended complaint is now being illegally withheld by the OCA. (though a FOIL request has been sent).

5) Sunny went to the FBI to report his kidnapping and threats against him and to ask for witness protection.

The lawsuit is complex and covers 10 years of litigation.  I recommend that you contact Kevin Hall, who advised Sunny in his case, and then look at the criminal aspects of this case.

Crimes committed by the NYPD the NY Hospital, Golia and others.

Thanks

Hi Kevin,
My name is David Lohr. I am the senior crime reporter at The Huffington Post. I have been asked to look into the June 2010 death of Sunny Sheu. I understand you were his attorney at one time and I was wondering if you might have a few minutes to discuss the case? I would greatly appreciate it.
Regards,
David Lohr

Will,

I reviewed the video - http://youtu.be/3Tr3QChAy4Y and the other information you provided.

I have interviewed one of Sunny’s past attorneys, Stephen A. Katz and I reached out to the other one – Kevin Hall. I also reached out to the medical examiner, the judge, Eric Adams, the prosecutor and the FBI agent Sunny reached out to. I also filed two FOI requests.

I received opinion from real estate fraud expert Dave Krieger – “My thoughts were that Sunny opened his mouth and said things that got him killed.”

I contacted the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Beth Moszkowicz, their Public Information Officer, replied via email almost immediately: “Mr. Lohr: We have no comment. Pursuant to Section 45 of the New York State Judiciary Law, all Commission proceedings and records -- including complaints and correspondence -- are confidential, with two exceptions not applicable here. http://www.cjc.ny.gov/Legal.Authorities/judiciary.law.htm

I am working remote from Erie, PA. Can I send our intern to pick up copies of the documents you have obtained regarding this case so that I may review them? This is a pretty involved case so all the I’s and T’s must be crossed.

I have cc’d my editor so he is aware of the steps that have been made thus far.

Regards,

David

David,

Im glad you are looking into this. It is indeed a complicated case, but a very important one.  This case illustrates a complete failure of government to protect its citizens by preventative or punitive measures.

I wish to stress that the agenda of the BSN is not to accuse Golia of ordering Sunny's death.

Our first goal is to bring the already proven and documented facts to the public's attention and ultimately to pressure the NY State or federal government into investigating Sunny's death in an independent and thorough manner.

If publication of the documented facts is insufficient to force the creation of an independent prosecutor for this case, we wish to bring the following to light:

-who were the two NYPD detectives that detained and threatened Sunny?
-who ordered the detention?
-what was the official purpose of the detention?
-who was the alleged "witness" that "saw Sunny fall" and dialed 911?
-What EMT workers transported Sunny to the hospital?
-what NYPD officers identified Sunny Sheu's body, and how did they do it?
-who ordered the illegal transfer of Sunny's body eight hours after his death?
-who at the NY Hospital authorized the illegal transfer?
-why did Captain Austin send a fraudulent report to the Coroner?
-why has there been no investigation of an "undetermined" death?

Obviously, neither the NYPD nor the DA can objectively investigate a matter in which they are implicated, especially since they have already refused to respond to FOIL requests regarding the above, and because they continue to maintain that no criminality is involved, in the face of hard evidence and common sense.

Likewise, the NY FBI has proven itself to be ineffective and/ or incompetent in its handling of this matter. The only solution is a special prosecutor who has the power and will to follow this story to the very

Even if the HP "solves" the mysteries involved with this case, Justice cannot be done until the case is brought to the attention of the world. Nether the HP nor the Blackstar News can arrest those involved in Sunny's murder and the ensuing cover-up, but you are in an a powerful position to expose this tragedy to hundreds of millions, and that would be an immense contribution to the future our society.

I should note that this story has already been shut down by the New York Post and NY ABC News - even by WNYC, to whom Sunny appealed before his death.  These venues requested documentation and then suddenly and without explanation cut  off all communication with the Blackstar News.

The Daily News, The NY Times, and the Village Voice - and many others have refused to cover this story.

Obviously this story reaches very high, and there are forces that do not want it exposed. Milton and I feel that as members of the press we are somewhat protected from retaliation, but we look over our shoulders every day.

Your protection is your affiliation with a hugely influential news venue, and its corporate owners.

We will do everything on our power to assist you in researching this story, but we need to be assured that you and the highest levels of your organization are committed to publishing the information we have accrued, and if you wish, to investigating deeper than we have been able.

David:

I have many of the Documents for Sun Ming Sheu but I can not say with certainty that I have all.

I believe the attorney you spoke to about this case was the lawyer representing Sunny in the Federal Bankruptcy Court.  There are a Host of documents in the Bankruptcy file ( or at least there were last time I reviewed ) that help explain many issues and answer many questions from the overall case with Golia.

I have PDF copies of many of these documents and documents can be obtained by anyone with a PACER account.  PACER charges .08 cents per page however.

Aside from the very clear issues about the cover-up of the death legitimately raised by Mr. Galison and Milton at BSN, on the "Court" side of the equation are many fundamental questions.

First question that Sun Ming Sheu was in fact working on at the time of his death was :  1) How could the NYPD Detectives who gave sworn complaints at the outset of the Criminal Case on the forging of documents etc, that gave Centex the property, be DENIED from Testifying in Civil proceedings before Judge Golia or other State Court Judge? I have seen documents and information to show that CENTEX Never took the property in good faith and the "closing" was a fraud - sham which is what Sunny was trying to prove but Golia would never allow the evidence in.  Public Records from the State OCA previously has shown that Judge Golia had Many Mortgage Foreclosure Cases pending with the Office of Steven Baum out of Amherst/Buffalo who has since been Shut Down and out of business ( in essence ) by the Feds for running the State's largest Foreclosure Mills and Baum's office "may" have been involved in the ROBO-SIGNING etc etc but need to check.

There are other similar important questions on the litigation side of the underlying case and Milton and the Black Star News from what I can tell attempted to ask almost all the pertinent questions and in many instances, No Response or Comment.  That should say alot as it is.

One item I can talk personally about is how the morning AFTER Sun Ming Sheu died I had a Personal Call with Special Agent Rachel Rojas of the FBI NYC Mortgage Fraud Unit.  Agent Rojas had called me back after I left a message the night before upon learning that Sunny had actually died and informed Agent Rojas that she was a "bit late" or words to that effect in returning my call as I had personally called Agent Rojas nearly 2 months before at Sunny's request and left voicemails with my contact information.

While I will have to check my notes for accuracy since I sent Email Complaints about these events to Federal agencies in Wash, DC as well as at the House Govt Committee, my recollection presently is that Agent Rojas indicated the following morning after Sunny's death that she had in fact called me back but if she had, I Certainly never got the VM as I certainly was "quite in tune" with the Danger I believed Sunny was facing at this time.

Interestingly, during the long call with Agent Rojas that morning, Sunday after his death, the Call was "Interfered" with on 3 Distinct Occasions to such a Degree that even Agent Rojas herself commented and appeared concerned.  This was reported by myself via Email to various Federal Agencies in Wash, DC ( will check for email ).

I can be reached at 941-404-5718 and if I am not available, please leave a number and time to call back and I will return the call.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello David. Not sure if you enjoy or celebrate St. Patrick's Day but I do and am part Irish so will wish you a Happy St. Pat's Day anyhow.

I am not sure if you have just been "really busy" or what as I was a bit surprised that I had not heard back from you after you first wrote to me on March 12, 2012 about the Sunny Sheu case.

Hopefully you received the Email Reply I sent directly to you the next day, March 13, 2012 and if not, I have forwarded this to you again in this email.

I guess I was a bit surprised since I had referenced a Direct Phone Conversation I, Kevin R. Hall, personally had with the Head of the FBI's Mortgage Fraud Unit in NYC, Special Agent Rachel Rojas, Squad C-3 Unit, the morning AFTER Sun - Ming Sheu was determined to be dead and referenced how the Phone Call with a Special Agent of the FBI heading up Mortgage Fraud in NYC was "Interfered" with on at least 3 distinct occasions in that morning's call alone.

I figured with Multi-Billion Dollar Mortgage Fraud and Crisis heading up news around the Nation for several years now combined with a specific call with the FBI's head of the Mortgage Fraud Unit the morning after a Litigant / Whistleblower was found dead after seeking Protection and help from the FBI may have gathered your attention and lead to a response.

But again, perhaps you have just been very very busy or did not get my email response.  So here it is again.

I welcome hearing from you and you may call me at 941-404-5718 or 941-896-4330.

Hope all is well either way and will be waiting to hear back from you.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

David,

Milton and I are eager to help you in any way can with this story, which we assume you are still working on.

We would like to speak to you by phone or we could meet with you at your NY office.

You may not know that Milton is an award-winning journalist with over 25 years of experience. I'm sure you will find him to be helpful in answering any questions you might have about this complicated case. We may also be able to direct you to any documentation you are looking for.

Is there anything specific you are looking for?

If for any reason, you feel that the case is not worthy of reporting, we would be very interested to know why. We are convinced that it is a huge story.

Thanks,

Will

  3. Hahaha! Just another human that likes to research situations that show celebrity crime 'reporters' such as David 'Lore' for who and what they are. I love the correspondence in this comment section. Plus, I checked out Lohr's online 'persona'. He really should be working for Qubecor up in Canada. Though the Huffpost is really on par with Quebecor's strain of local "Sun" newspapers. Good job, JFSS. I'll be 'sharing' this with fellow 'freaks'.
